The villains return once more to tell us their side of the story as things aren’t always what they seem. The Pocketwatch, the new Descendants spin-off, will introduce new evil characters and some less evil ones… Find out all about the upcoming movie here.
That progeny are back? Something like that… The pocket watch is Disney’s new bet on the world of villains. The split from Dove Cameron and Sofia KarsonThe film will be directed and executive produced by Jennifer Phang (The Boys), while Dan Fray and Russel Sommer will write the screenplay.
It will feature other regular contributors to the franchise such as: Markus Hofeling, who returns as production designer. In addition, the film includes seven brand new original songs as well as Disney classics introduced as the story progresses.
In the original franchise, we saw the storyline follow a group of rebels for no reason, children of the most evil villains: Mal (daughter of Maleficent), Carlos (son of Cruella de Vil), Jay (son of Jafar) and Evie (daughter of the evil queen from Snow White). But this time the protagonists will be completely different, making way for Red and Chloe.
The Pocketwatch: What is the spin-off about?
According to the official synopsis, the story follows Red, Daughter of the Queen of Heartsand Chloe, Daughter of Cinderellaas they join forces to save Auradon by using the White Rabbit’s pocket watch to travel back in time to stop an event that would have dire consequences.
The new film will have several franchise regulars, not only in its production team but also in its cast. Uma’s character is back and so far she is the only one of the original descendants to take part in the project.

Several great actors will play the new Disney spin-off. The list of those confirmed so far is completed as follows:

The pocket watch: when will it appear?
Although The Pocketwatch appears to be the working title, the film will start filming this summer, so there might be a chance that’s the case it will be released sometime in 2023. The split will be published directly from Disney+ and not in cinemas.
