A website called Area Vibes collapsed and created a formula based on what they call a habitability rating. Use different categories like Crime, Amenities, Cost of Living, User Rating, Education, Employment, and Housing. The site is very user-friendly and you can change the “score” of each category to the qualities you are looking for the most when choosing a city to live in. With all categories set to moderate, here is the categorized list of the best and worst places to live. This has been updated to the latest study from 2022:
