Gareth Southgate expects to nominate the unchanged England squad for the World Cup clash against USA, with Harry Kane and Harry Maguire ready to start

Gareth Southgate is expected to remain with the team that beat Iran in Friday night’s clash against the United States.

The Three Lions defeated Carlos Queiroz’s team 6-2 in the opening game and celebrated a perfect start to their World Cup season.

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka scored twice and impressive Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham also scored in the win.

Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish then finished scoring for the Southgate men.

Meanwhile, the USA drew 1-1 with Wales in their first game, with Gareth Bale equalizing and denying the Stars and Stripes the three points.

England boss Southgate are expected to nominate the same team and formation for Friday’s clash.

Harry Kane is expected to be fit despite suffering a hit, while defender Harry Maguire could be recovering from illness.

The 29-year-old England skipper was pictured back in training after a scan on his ankle.

He is expected to start alongside Saka and Chelsea forward Sterling.

Southgate also downplayed any injury worries in his pre-game press conference.

“Harry is fine. It would be a brave decision to leave him out of the starting XI,” he said.

Maguire, meanwhile, is expected to continue the centre-back partnership alongside John Stones with Kieran Tripper and Luke Shaw at full-back.

Bellingham and Rice will be part of the midfield alongside Mason Mount.
