Things to do this week in Pa., NJ and Del.: Holiday Attractions, Smokey Robinson, Meek Mill

Whether you’re celebrating Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, or just gift-giving, there are tons of options for you this weekend. While family is visiting, take advantage of seasonal opening hours for holiday attractions and entertainment. Tinseltown and other light shows make their seasonal debuts, and the legendary Smokey Robinson is in town. And on Friday it’s Team USA against England in the World Cup, with Watch parties all over town. Here is our holiday recap.

There are plenty of options for families this weekend as several holiday-themed attractions are open for the season. tinseltown starts on Friday at Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in oak trees. Shady Brook Farms Holiday Light Show and the Christmas mood light Show in Lancaster continues through the holiday season whilst Koziar’s Christmas Village in Bernville continues through Christmas week. Komcast, Macy’sand Dilworth Park illuminate their annual attractions. “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella‘ is playing at the Walnut Street Theatre. The Philadelphia Orchestra performs the score and performs the enduring Christmas classic “Home alone.” Morris Arboretum holiday garden railway opens as well winter festival at the Blue Cross RiverRink and Delco’s flight on ice.

tinsel is in the air as the Christmassy bar reopens for the season on Friday. Beer garden in the upper town transforms into U-Ville, inspired by Dr. Sweet. Assembly Alpine heights offers seasonal drinks and happy hour at the pizza bar. At the Sofitel, the Afternoon Tea Service gets one turn vacation. On Saturday, Fishtown hosts its first neighborhood soccer tournament and block party. WM watch parties are held across town throughout the tournament, but for USA vs England on Friday there are parties at Brewery Schmitz and Xfinity Live! There’s also one at the Wells Fargo Center that starts at 2:00 p.m., in front of the Penguins/Aviator Gamebut you need to buy tickets for the game.

On Saturday, Gentle mill brings some friends to his hometown to celebrate the 10th anniversary of “dreams and nightmares‘ at the Wells Fargo Center. Motown icon Smoky Robinson also performs at The Met Philadelphia on Saturday. The Philadelphia homage to the last waltz features local performers commemorating The Band’s 1976 Thanksgiving show. It is also an advantage for the Make the world better Foundation, endowment. Cabinet plays two nights at Ardmore Music Hall and Simply good: The Mary J. Tribute Band checks in at the City Winery on Friday night. There is one for classical music fans free performance of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday. “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical‘ will continue until next weekend.


New Jersey

Camden’s Adventure Aquarium begins its Christmas under water Event featuring Scuba Santa and the world’s tallest underwater Christmas tree. in the Collingswood, Friday evening marks the official tree lighting ceremony; the annual holiday parade is on Saturday. Swedesboro solidifies the traditions with its holiday celebration on Saturday. Also on Saturday, Palmyra a winter night market with food, music and vendors. Winemaker Wonderland at Renault Winery in Egg Harbor includes ice skating, wine, food and curated experiences. Smithville is two days Dickens feast starts on Saturday

Milford’s Riverfront Theater marks the 2022 debut of “The trial of Ebenezer Scrooge” on Friday. The Baby Grand in Wilmington houses Musicians Giving Back: A Night of Music by Todd Rundgren On Sunday.
